Reclock

Characteristic for legacy protocols like AES/EBU or SPDIF is that the sample rate is generated by the clock of the sender.
If this clock is jittery, you will have a huge amount of input jitter.
A remedy is to re-clock, a device resamples the input using a high quality clock.

Not uncommon with these type of devices, things got worse.
The jitter performance doesn’t improve but there is a lot of distortion injected.
